S.M.O.M.
SMOM, the acronym for the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, is an ancient religious and chivalric order founded in 1048, originally known as the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem. It has a supranational structure and maintains diplomatic relations with many countries and the Holy See. Its primary mission is to provide humanitarian and medical assistance, supporting relief projects in crises, wars, and natural disasters.
Although the Order does not have territory like a traditional state, it enjoys sovereignty and manages embassies and diplomatic missions worldwide. It also has its own offices and medical facilities directly overseeing projects and relief activities in numerous countries.
Additionally, the Sovereign Military Order of Malta issues its own postage stamps, primarily used for correspondence sent from its official locations. These stamps are highly valued by collectors worldwide, as they reflect the Order's identity and history and are considered philatelic collectibles
