The Kingdom of the Two Sicilies included the Kingdom of Naples, which was divided into fifteen provinces and stretched by the Papal States included up to Calabria and the Kingdom of Sicily which included the entire island. The two kingdoms were united into one state under the Bourbon dynasty as a result of the Treaty of Vienna of 1815.
The Sovereign Ferdinand II reigned from 1830 to 1859, he was succeeded by Francis II who reigned until 1860 when it formed a Provisional Government on 21 October 1860 a plebiscite sanctioned the annexation to the Kingdom of Vittorio Emanuele II
