Ascension

Ascension Island is an island in the South Atlantic Ocean, located just south of the equator, about 1,600 km from the coast of Africa. It is a dependency of the British Overseas Territory of Saint Helena, Ascension, and Tristan da Cunha (1,300 km to the southeast) and is named because it was discovered on the day of the Ascension of Jesus.

The main export item is stamps, which have been regularly issued since 1922 at a rate of about 5 or 6 series per year.
